Aminia was selected through a rigorous national tender process to design and deliver a full-turnkey Cloud UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) platform for Malaysia’s largest fixed-line and broadband operator — providing the complete technology stack, resident engineering, managed services, security, and software development required to bring the service to market.
The client is Malaysia’s dominant telecommunications provider and the country’s principal fixed-line operator, serving both residential and enterprise customers at national scale. As the incumbent carrier, the client operates one of the country’s most extensive fibre and broadband networks, with reach into millions of homes and businesses across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
Seeking to expand its enterprise product portfolio, the client launched a national initiative to bring Cloud Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) to Malaysian SMEs — enabling businesses to replace legacy PBX infrastructure with a fully managed, cloud-hosted communications platform delivered over the operator’s own network.
The client conducted a structured, multi-round tender process for a partner capable of delivering not just the technology, but the full operational capability behind a national UCaaS platform. The requirements were extensive and technically precise, spanning platform architecture, carrier integration, security, and long-term managed services.
Aminia designed, delivered, and now operates the complete UCaaS stack on behalf of Malaysia’s No. 1 ISP. The scope was truly end-to-end: from platform architecture and IMS integration through to subscriber provisioning, managed services, and customer-facing software development.
The UCaaS platform was deployed as a fully virtualised (NFV) solution on the client’s own cloud infrastructure — ensuring no external cloud dependency and meeting the client’s requirement for sovereign data hosting. The architecture supports high-availability, scalable multi-tenancy across thousands of SME subscribers.
Aminia delivered deep SIP-level integration between the UCaaS platform and the client’s carrier IMS core — encompassing SBC configuration, SIP message header alignment, codec negotiation, load balancing, and RFC compliance across the full stack. This integration enables SMEs to receive true fixed-line numbers on a cloud-native platform.
The platform delivers a comprehensive unified communications feature set including call forwarding, IVR, call recording, voicemail, conference rooms, call queues, and real-time dashboards — alongside a fully featured softphone client and native WhatsApp Business integration, enabling agents to handle WhatsApp conversations alongside voice calls from a single interface.
Aminia deployed and configured a full security layer including Session Border Controllers, packet filtering, and voice fraud prevention mechanisms — protecting both the operator’s core network and the end SME customers from toll fraud, SIP attacks, and unauthorised access.
Aminia provides ongoing managed services including resident engineering presence, 24×7 system monitoring, health checks, fault management, subscriber provisioning via both GUI and bulk API, call trace tools, QoS investigation, and emergency recovery procedures — ensuring the operator can deliver a carrier-grade SLA to its SME customers.
Aminia developed custom API integrations connecting the UCaaS platform to the client’s back-end billing, order management, and CRM systems — enabling automated end-to-end order fulfilment from customer sign-up through to service activation, with zero manual intervention required for standard subscriber onboarding.
Service packages launched to market
Aminia successfully delivered the full UCaaS platform from tender award through to commercial launch — with the service now commercially available to SME customers across Malaysia under the client’s brand. The platform operates at carrier grade, with Aminia continuing to provide managed services and resident engineering support on an ongoing basis.
